Therm PE100 pipe is produced with a highly reflective white exterior coating, which is extruded simultaneously with the main pipe. This innovative co-extrusion technology ensures that over 95% of the pipe is made from standard black PE material, while a thin white coating is applied to the outside to reflect sunlight and reduce heat absorption. Despite being a tried and tested technology, co-extruded pipe has traditionally been more expensive than standard black poly pipe. However, Acu-Tech has invested in state-of-the-art extrusion machinery, allowing us to produce co-extruded PE pipe more efficiently. This means that the cost of our co-ex HDPE pipe is only slightly higher than standard black HDPE pipe. Furthermore, our new machinery also has the capability to produce white coex pipe with coloured stripes, making it easier to identify the contents of the pipeline. For example, blue stripes denote white water pipe, red stripes indicate white rural pipe, and lilac stripes signify white recycled water pipe. For custom needs, we can also produce white pipe with stripes in any other colour.

One of the main benefits of Acu-Therm HDPE pipe for above ground applications is its full white coating, which significantly reduces solar heating of both the pipe and its contents. Our tests have shown that this coating can reduce solar heating by more than 50%. In addition, our HDPE pipe offers excellent UV resistance, ensuring its durability even in sunny or hot environments.

Due to its white coating and lower operating temperatures, Acu-Therm HDPE pipe can be used with lower pressure ratings, resulting in cost savings in material and increased flow rates.
